How does Unyielding Spirit work to prevent damage, and what types of damage/effects does it block or not block?
Answered under Unleashed Rules FAQ and Clarifications
is a Reaction that creates a Prevent effect for the turn which replaces damage events coming from spells and abilities. It prevents those damage events (treating them as not being dealt) but does not stop combat damage or non‑spell/ability effects that don’t deal damage.
(Reaction): When you play it, it creates a Prevent effect for this turn that applies to damage whose source is a spell or an ability. Any damage that would be dealt by spells or abilities is replaced by the Prevent action, and if the Prevent fully prevents that damage it is treated as not having been dealt. It does not prevent combat damage or non‑damage effects (for example, destroy/kill instructions that don’t deal damage). Combat damage can still be assigned to units even if they are affected by Prevent; that assigned combat damage will be reduced by any Prevent that applies to those damage events as described by the Prevent rules.
