What exactly is a round cycle, and if a player forgets to draw at the start of their turn, can they draw on their next turn?
Answered under Unleashed Rules FAQ and Clarifications
The rules sheets do not define the phrase “round cycle.” The most defensible interpretation using the provided rules is that a round cycle refers to the normal sequence of a Turn's phases (Awaken, Beginning, Channel, Draw, etc.) described in the Start of Turn rules . A draw is performed as the Draw Phase's outstanding task; if a player truly never performed that Draw Phase task and the game has since progressed past that Draw Phase (i.e., the turn advanced), they do not retroactively draw on their next turn to make up the missed draw. If the missed draw is noticed while the game is still in the same Draw Phase (before the turn advances), the player should perform the Draw Phase task then. If the draw would have caused a Burn Out (deck empty), follow the Burn Out procedure when the draw is performed .
The rules do not define “round cycle” explicitly; use the Start of Turn phase sequence as the actionable cycle . The Draw Phase is an outstanding task that the Turn Player performs during their Draw Phase: “The Turn Player draws 1.” . If a player forgets to draw but the game has not moved past that Draw Phase (i.e., it is still that turn's Draw Phase), they should perform the draw immediately. If the game has advanced to the next turn (the turn has ended and the next turn has begun), you cannot retroactively draw for the previous turn — the player will simply draw during their new Draw Phase as normal. If the draw (when performed) would cause a Burn Out because the Main Deck is empty, resolve Burn Out as instructed .
